In 2016, Anne began studying oil and acrylic painting at Brunswick Community College and is currently taking classes at the Joseph Bardani Studio in Southport.
Interesting architectural elements and rocky seascapes are favorite subjects in her paintings. While traveling through rural Maine, Anne was inspired by the rugged landscape and desolate beauty of the coastline which are visible in much of her work.
Awards include Winner of the NC Community Colleges Holiday Card competition 2018 and 2019. Honorable mention for a composition entitled Cold Blue, Brunswick County Arts Council 2022 fall show, Leland.
Anne and her husband Ray relocated to NC from northern NJ and have lived in St James since 2013. They spend a good deal to time traveling to interesting places which inspires her to create.
Artist Statement
Working in both acrylics and oils on a variety of surfaces, inspiration comes from the infinite beauty in nature and an appreciation of human-made structures. Love of impressionist art is reflected in much of my work. My works are generally rooted in realism but take on elements of my own creation.
