Christine Neveaux

 Christine Neveaux is a photographer and artist in Southport, North Carolina. She has travelled the world with her camera and taken pictures on every adventure since she was in college. Her photographs have been in numerous exhibits. She is honored to be have been invited to exhibit a selection of photos from her travels and be able to tell stories based on specific countries and subject matter from her travels. She often uses these photographs for her watercolor paintings. She now also draws on the Coastal Carolinas for much of her work.

As an watercolor artist, she is known for her unique watercolor weavings, which are very time intensive to create. She starts with two original paintings, that have to be exact matches, and then weaves them together for a wonderfully unique piece of art.

Chris has been painting for more than 10 years mostly using a set watercolor palette. She paints in varying watercolor methods depending on both her mood and what seems best for the subject. Most of her training has been in tight, detailed watercolor, but she also likes to use wet-on-wet and other looser watercolor styles as well as special effects, that she says “allow the unexpected accidents and magic that are pure watercolor.”

Chris spent her career in the airports arena, helping airports all over the country plan for their future, often facilitating and mediating between various interests. She is a helicopter pilot and belongs to the “Whirlygirls” an international organization of female helicopter pilots.

A military veteran, Chris was a Transportation Officer in the U.S. Army and served a tour in South Korea. She is a member of Southport’s Post 551, of The American Legion. She and her husband, Michael, live in Southport with their golden retriever, Gracie, who is often a subject of her photos and paintings.
