St. James Artisan, fiber artist Diane Wyte, has been practicing her art since she was 7 years old when she learned to sew and craft with all fibers at the knees of her grandmother and mother. She graduated with a BS in nutrition and textiles, and a MS in teaching the gifted all the while working with her fibers. As years went by, Diane continued working and experimenting. Currently she enjoys working with cottons, wools, velvets, embellishments of all kinds, roving, and rope. She especially loves the creativity of “making something beautiful out of nothing!!!” After retirement and moving to St. James, Diane continued to experiment and “play” with her beloved fiber art creations.
