Nancy's professional career had kept her busy with little time for enjoying the arts. Now that she is retired, she can spend time exploring a variety of art disciplines. She dabbles in local NC pine straw home decor that includes local driftwood, shells, and pine straw, and often gifts those to family and friends as it is a true reflection of her NC coastal life. In addition, Nancy spends a lot of time oil painting regularly taking classes at BCC and through Franklin Square Gallery and Bardani Studios. Her original art and reprints can be found at the Gallery in the form of giclee on canvas and on metal. Her photography often captures the local culture, and these too are available at the Gallery.
Her work can also be viewed at the Bardani Studio, Pearl's on Howe Street, Bella Cucina Restaurant on Highway 211, and at Wicker and More in Shallotte.
When she is not engaged in these activities, Nancy manages the St. James Rifle and Pistol Association and their ladies' league called the Pistol Annies. She tries to keep active with Zumba, Personal Training, biking, and traveling.
