Shelia Kempf is a realist oil painter, photographer, and wood burner. Her paintings come from the collection of photos that she takes of the beauty that surround us. Shelia’s photography has been her passion since childhood. She first picked up a brush in 2000 and started bringing those photographs to life on canvas. She says, “I want the viewer to feel as if they could walk right into my paintings.” She paints many subjects: landscapes, seascapes, lighthouses, architecture, and portraits. One of her favorite subjects to paint is pet portraits from photographs and welcomes commissions. She has won awards in her paintings and photography. Shelia served on the Artisans Steering Committee for three years and is still very much involved in the Accounting/Bookkeeping and Display at the Artisans Gallery on Howe.
